We LOVE this blanket. A little pricey for our purposes, but would definitely buy it again.We are actually using this to drape over our 1 year old hound dog’s bed, because they are easily susceptible to cold & we like the house to be pretty cool at night while we sleep. Roll your eyes if you want (I would’ve too), BUT because she gets cold, she hops up on the bed with us & wakes us up on & off until she either gets warmer or can get under the covers to be warm, —over and over throughout the night. Being a hound, she’s too vocal to put her anywhere else in the house while we sleep, because her barks will keep us awake. We tried. As a puppy we kept her on the bed so we’d know when she woke up & had to go outside, which developed a be-on-the-bed-with-mom-and-dad habit we’re still trying to break long after she was poddy trained.Thus the electric blanket solution!! It has worked surprisingly well too. We got the twin size, so it folds in half nicely & the extra length tucks underneath the dog bed to act like a fitted sheet. The cord stays loose & facing outward, and we can regulate the temperature for her with the remote box thing. It does last 10 hours, which means she stays off our bed all night long & we get peaceful sleep without having to give up our dog. ?It is machine washable which is fantastic since she sleeps on it every night; just unplug, follow wash instructions & line dry.She loves it so much that she’ll choose to be on it, instead of taking up space on our bed when she knows it’s on/warm.Like I said: a little pricey given we are using it for our dog, but it’s been WELL worth it in the months we’ve had it & I’d definitely buy the product again (for a human or otherwise)!for some reason, the blanket and/or controller keep going into an error mode. I rarely used it during the summer, when I bought it, but now that it is fall, and cooler, I turn it on, and at first it usually comes on ok, but frequently 70% it switches off into error and needed to be reset. I contacted the seller for advice, as when it is on ok, it is fine (until it randomly switches itself off)I contacted Customer service and they quickly sent me a replacement controller. I also found that I sometimes need to reseat the power connection into the blanket itself, but was hugely pleased with the prompt resolution of my issue.Snugglable soft and plenty warmUnbelievable, I love it!!!!! I've had miserable experiences with Sunbeam so I decided to try this manufacturer. This blanket is soft, the heating element works throughout the blanket. The heat is evenly distributed throughout the blanket. As far as I'm concerned the control is brilliantly designed! This was a plus I wasn't expecting. First, the control is made in the shape of a wedge! It doesn't slip between the bed and the headboard!!!! Second, it has three buttons to control the heat, no wheel that slides around while you sleep. You set it, it stays!!! Third the three buttons: one turns the blanket on and off, one turns the heat up at measurable intervals, the third turns the heat down at measurable intervals. Bottom line, I'm in heaven, sleep better than I have in years. Thanks BiddefordA great electric blanket. It has staying power - I am writing this review a year after buying it. I get chilled easily, and this heated blanket has reliably warmed me up when I felt cold. This is a huge improvement over the Sunbeam blankets I used to buy that rapidly lost their heating power. After a few months of use the cruddy Sunbeams would take hours to barely warm up. This Biddeford always warms up within a few minutes. I bought this one to replace a previous Biddeford blanket that only died when the house's power transformer bought the farm and took a fewappliances with it. This blanket is an investment, not a disposable.I have had wonderful experiences with this company before, so I am more likely to believe that this experience was a little off. After less than 2 months my controller for the heat stopped functioning. I am going to try to reach warranties to see a resolution. I will keep this update. I would caution you that I purchased this item for between $50 and $60, minus shipping. Look around more if someone is trying to sell a TWIN sized blanket for more than that. Wires are quite prominent, so I put a thin fleece between the electric blanket and the sheet, so now I do not notice them.I bought these blankets before, and they lasted a couple years. We bought two twin size blankets for a king size bed, but the last two batches of were not so good. I plugged in the first blankets, and only half of the blankets would heat up. Amazon immediately sent us new blankets that were different. Those blankets off-gassed and gave me and my partner very bad headaches. I was able to burn that off by heating the blankets on high in a well ventilated room a few days in a row. Then after two months, the controls would no longer light up for one blanket. Now we only have one working blanket.Works great and it’s very warm. I use it on high to preheat the bed then turn it down to 1 to sleep. Two things that may bother buyers - it’s quite lightweight and stretchy when you put it on and it’s full of static electricity. Not deal breakers to me because I really like it otherwiseI bought this just to take the chill out of the bed in our RV on cold nights. We will not use it overnight but it will be perfect for what I bought it for. Size is good to just cover the width of our short queen. There is no room yo hang over the edge with the cupboards anyway so the twin fits perfectly.I've had this for a year and it SAVED ME last winter. It's the exact right size to use as a throw blanket on the couch, and the heating options work well. I would recommend it for others. I don't recommend that you let your jerk dog chew a hole in it, like mine did, but she didn't hit a wire so I guess she'll live.Works well to pre heat the bed but very delicate so be careful.
