First off, this blanket replaces another YnM weighted blanket of the same weight. I got this one because the other one was too short. I am a tall gal who spends part of the night sleeping on my tummy with my toes pointed over the foot of the bed. The extra 6 inches keep my feet warm no matter how I am sleeping. Unfortunately, they do not sell replacement covers in this size and I have not had good luck buying covers from other companies. I bought this set in March of last year, it is now the end of July. The "cooling cover has been used off and on for about an average usage of maybe 5 months. I am a cold sleeper so I use the minky cover more and that one has held up well but the *cooling* cover needs to be replaced. It is usable still but for people with sensory issues having fabric with teeny-tiny balls of worn fabric is not something we can handle. The fact that this company makes this extra long blanket and then has a TON of options of fabrics and prints and sizes in all but this size is why I took off a star. This is the only set that they do not offer replacement covers for. You can buy linen covers, bamboo covers, cotton covers, polyester covers, minky covers, and glow-in-the-dark covers for any other size but not this one. If they finally offer replacement covers I will happily update my star rating to a five.I have seen other reviewers complain about the beads working their way to the edges, I have not had this happen with either of the two weighted blankets I personally have used from this company. The three smaller ones I bought for my kids have had that problem, the squares were smaller and they are harder on their blankets. Knocking them off the bed, carrying them around, but mine never leaves my bed unless I am going to stay at my mom's. I have also only washed the blanket itself once in my front loader washer and hang drying on my fence.For me, this has been amazing to help battle PTSD-related insomnia, but people need to remember that there isn't a magic bullet for sleep-related issues. Every body is different just as every personality is different and what works for one person isn't guaranteed to work for everyone else. For me, since I am a cold sleeper meaning my outer body temperature drops more than the average person's but my core temperature stays in the safe range I love having a ton of blankets on top of me. Someone who likes to sleep with a lot of blankets is probably going to like this. If you are more like my husband who sweats in his sleep even in winter this is probably not going to be for you. If you are someone who sleeps best touching another person then this would be worth a try, but if you are someone who sleeps with only a sheet and can't have pets or other people touch you while you sleep, this is not for you.What I have noticed with my whole family of six trying out weighted blankets is that it is really hit and miss if it is going to help with anxiety, PTSD, or sleep issues. Out of the six of us, only 2 of us use them nightly. One uses them only when it is cooler. And one of them loves to wrap up in one when having a bad day but will not sleep with it. Whatever your reasons for thinking about trying out a weighted blanket, just remember it is not a magical thing that is guaranteed to change your life forever. If it works for you it WILL change your life forever but it is not a guarantee that it will.As weighted blankets go, I believe this set is a great value for a well made set that stands up to my little dog's grimy scratchy paws and repeated washing of the thicker, fuzzy duvet. It's a must have in my semi truck sleeper.I've washed the inner weighted blanket once and it laundered fine. I see no shifting or loss of the fill. There are six ties for the duvets and a zipper the length of the blanket. Easy to remove and replace duvets for laundering. I like the light fabric duvet option for warmer months, but the fuzzy one is my favorite.So pleased with set , that I bought another set for at home. Won't sleep without my weighted blankets! Love the cheerful colors, too.The weighted blanket & duvet set was a bargain & is well made with sewing & finishing nicely done. The fabrics & colors are beautiful. I’m sleeping better & very glad I purchased this set.That said, I rated giftable with 3 stars because think it would be difficult to give this as a gift unless it was specifically asked for. Not everyone likes a weighted blanket, Including some of my family members.My daughter’s review: I bought the 60x80, 15 lb blanket a year and a half ago and have used it almost every night since. It covers the top of my full sized mattress with about an inch over hanging at the foot of the bed (it’s almost the exact same size as my mattress topper). I mostly only use the minky cover because I like the softer plush feel better. The “cool” cover feels like a 4star hotel sheet set which I like. I wouldn’t say there is much of a temperature difference between the 2 covers. The minky cover is just cozier. During summer months I use just the blanket with the minky cover and my top sheet. In the colder months, I need to add a few throw blankets underneath, sometimes a comforter too. Im a bit of a cold sleeper.Both covers and the blanket have 8 ties inside that have held up well so far. It is a bit of a struggle to get the weighted blanket inside initially (I’ve found that turning the cover inside out to tie the bottom 3 loops and the 2 on the sides before inserting the blanket makes it easier and more manageable), but once it is tied down and “fluffed out” it stays in place well unless I’m SUPER fidgety. I’ve washed the minky cover about 5-6 times and have not noticed any color changes or texture alterations.When I first started using this blanket, my eyes felt like there was something gritty in them that I could not find. Not sure if it had anything to do with the blanket or not. After a few weeks the feeling stopped occurring so it could have been an environmental issue. The blanket doesn’t seem to be any lighter than when I bought it, so I don’t think it lost any beads.When I lay under it, it feels about as heavy as the dense, hand made quilt my parents use. I don’t feel like my movements are restricted any when I use it. It is a little noisier than a regular blanket since the beads will shift some when I move, but I would say the sound is akin to the sound my rice filled heating pack makes, but a little quieter. After becoming accustomed to this blanket, I’m considering purchasing a second one with a heavier weight.Love itLove the blanket, fuzzy cover is soft but the light weight cover for spring had the zipper broke.I did a lot of research before buying a weighted blanket.I waited a month for this blanket and was really happy to receive it.I’ve slept with it for 5 nights and the glass beads keep pooling in the extremities of the blanket. I emailed before writing this review and the seller just said sorry and told Me to remove a bad review which I hadn’t even written. So here is my bad review. The covers are great, the ties on the inside work very well. BUT the intended purpose of a weighted blanket is NOT served as all the beads are falling into the extremities. I would not recommend this product.I have recommendations from friends for other brands where the beads don’t shift from the center and the blanket serves its intended purpose.I had read about weighted blankets. Heard all about the benefits. But wasn’t sure I wanted to spend the money. As the pandemic has gone on, I have had greater difficulty sleeping. My mind just won’t shut off at night.Prime day came and I thought. Why not?I am SO glad that I did. I wish I bought one sooner.I included screenshots from my sleep tracker. The first picture is pre-blanket. The second picture is post-blanket. You can see a huge increase in REM and deep sleep.I highly recommend.I love this blanket. I researched extensively on these blankets because some can run you $400.00 plus. So when I stumbled upon this one I read all the reviews and was sold by another persons positive experience.I have major depression, extreme anxiety and panic attacks. I also run very hot with menopause so I was hesitate about the weight and the heat. Have no fear. I am nice and comfortable at night, I don’t sweat anymore. I don’t toss and flop like a fish anymore either. I wake up feeling great.The first few nights took a little getting used to the weight but now it’s smooth sailing. The product is great, the beads don’t shift from one side to another. ONE very important thing to know while ordering is DO NOT OVER SIZE your blanket. The queen will not hang over your bed and THAT is what you want. You want the blanket around you not pinning you down so you can’t move. You need a little movement.Over all blanket came neat, clean and tidy. I put the summer douvet cover on it.When attempting to put the douvet cover on turn it inside out first. Lay it on the bed then lay the blanket on top. Do up the ties. Then fold or roll the cover not attached to the blanket over and over till you get it into place. This is tricky because you just can’t flip it up and expect it to be in. Remember it’s 15 lbs of dead weight. Make sure your corners are in the corners, if not your blanket will be clumped together not distributing the weight properly. If you have animals as I do good luck, lol they love to help!!So much NO! This blanket arrived to me a bit dirty which shows poor quality control. The beads are not placed evenly. Neither of the covers are soft. The strings meant to hold the blanket to the duvet broke off so now I can't even use it at all without it coming out of place. And the listing stated free shipping however I was charged $40 for it anyways. Save your money folks and AVOID these crooks!
